I heard that part of "Green Level to Durham Road", has been renamed to "Green Level Church Road". Anybody knows which part is getting affected or renamed?

This is the email I got from the Town of Cary:

Quote:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 24, 2010
Traffic Alert
Road Name Change Goes Into Effect on Monday
Effective March 1, drivers in Western Wake County should be aware that Green Level to Durham Road (SR 1652) and a portion of Alston Avenue (SR 1630) will be permanently renamed to Green Level Church Road. The affected roads are part of nine miles of state roads extending north and south, between U.S. 64 West in Apex and N.C. 55 Highway in Durham. New signage is being installed throughout the corridors. The name change eliminates duplicate road names, thus reducing confusion for public safety responders and motorists alike.

David Hunt, Wake County GIS, (919) 856-6373
Deanna Boone, Deputy Public Information Officer, (919) 462-3908

Default Still confuzzled...

I did not think that particular renaming choice was a very good decision... we already have Green Level, Green Level to Durham, Green Hope, Green Level Baptist something, Green Level Crossing (neighborhood).

If going to all of that trouble could they not have given it a name that REALLY differentiated it from the others?

Default I had to recently

use Green Level to Durham Road...I have to say that I was very confused by the road name. I don't travel frequently to Cary & when looking at the original directions (which I got through yahoomaps & mapquest, both of which I later found out were wrong!), I thought they were 2 seperate roads.
