Hi. I recently got a job in Durham, NC. I am looking for an apartment and am in need of some help from someone who knows the area. My sister is moving to Sanford, NC. I am looking for a place somewhat close to Durham, but also a reasonable distance to Sanford. I was thinking about the Cary area. Does anyone know which apartments are the nicest and safest in that area. Thanks so much!

Anything in Cary will be reasonably safe. Depending on your price range, Weston Lakeside would be a great choice. It's off Weston Parkway, about a mile to I-40. It's also right next to a park and lake.

Pittsboro might be good, too, depending on where you're working in Durham (NSEW). Pittsboro is about 20 minutes from Sanford. Pittsboro to Durham is probably about the same if you go up 751.

Pittsboro and Cary are pretty different, though. Pittsboro is a funky small town with quite a few unique shops and Cary is a large suburb with tons of stores (many many chains) of all stripes and colors. You'd probably find that one suits you better than the other.
