My cousin is coming in to town next week and I was looking for a good place to watch the games next Thursday and Friday. I was thinking of someplace in downtown Raleigh. Any suggestions?
In the Crabtree area, Rudinos newest area restaurant is a large sports bar/restaurant with many TVs. It's at Edwards Mill and Duraleigh. Behind Crabtree is another sports bar/restaurant is Crabtree Tavern.
I enjoy Hi-5 as well. My only "complaint" is that they don't have a wall of TVs. If you sit at the bar, you can only watch 2 or 3 TVs at a time. That makes it a bit tough during football season, but since its the unofficial Redskins Bar of Raleigh, thats they place I like to go to wallow in despair with my fellow downtrodden fans.
Definitely second this recommendation. We have been there a couple of times for Thursday and Friday opening of NCAA. and they have a great setup.
Have they improved their food since they opened? I was really happy that they were non-smoking but that's no longer a differentiator. The quality of the food needs to improve for me to switch from Hi5.
