I don't know how much cnas make. I have two friends who loved nursing school at UNCH-Chapel Hill. I love Durham. I can go to non chain restaurants around town. When you come to visit, check out 9th street near Duke University, Duke Gardens, Nasher Art Museum, Southpoint Mall, Franklin Street near UNC-Chapel Hill, Carrboro for Weaver St. Market.

For night life, I try to give my Raleigh friends a break from traveling to Durham. There are some cool places to meet people around Glennwood Avenue in Raleigh. Let me know if you need any details. I hope you enjoy your visit!

There is also a nursing school based at Durham Regional Hospital, Watts School of Nursing. For more info:

A little way of life related comment...I spotted a store dedicated entirely to scrubs in a shopping area across the street from the Streets at Southpoint mall. I don't know if scrubs stores are common to find, but I'd never seen one and it reinforced what I'd heard about Durham having a huge medical community.
