Where in the triangle can I get them?

I have checked a ton of persian markets in the area and none carry them, but Im SURE a mediterranean/middle-eastern market somewhere has them. Anyone know for sure?

BTW if you havent tried them...you're in for a treat if you like pistachios. Im sitting here choking on some salty california garbage pistachios missing the real deal...

Haha, I've never heard of Iranian pistachios. I think (pretty sure anyway) that the owner of A&S International Market (Cary Towne Bvd) is from Iran, maybe he has some or knows. We get our Serbian stuff there, there are many products from also Russia, and of course, middle eastern.

To be slightly political, do they have to be Iranian? Is there no other country in the middle east that produces good pistachios? Syria and Turkey export a lot of pistachios. Harmony Market in Cary lists Turkish pistachios. Harmony Mediterranean Market

My daughter buys Persian stuff, she said the Caspian market on Brentwood Rd, left off Capital going away from beltline, is her source for all things Persian/Iranian. if they don't have them maybe they could tell you who does.

Harmony market is great, and it is right across the street from A&S so you can check out both easily.

They owners of Al Baraka on Hillsborough Street (right inside the beltline) are also Iranian and may have them. I have never had their pistachios, but their almonds and dried apricots are the best I can find anywhere.

Iranian pistachios are indeed a treat. When I was a kid one of my dad's client's was in the import business. Every year he brought my dad a case of Iranian pistachios, and they were great--always large with excellent flavor. But then the 1979 revolution and the Ayatollah came along, and I haven't had one since. If you find a source please post it!
