I'm not into barber shops so I can't help you in that area. But I sure was digging the chocolate bourbon pecan bacon pie and chillin' by the fireplace at PieBird's open house last night. Their "official" Grand Opening is in a couple more weeks.
To all those worried about price. They will be serving pies by the slice and the prices start at $3 a slice. They also plan to have three beers on tap (two being local brews) and will serve locally roasted counter culture coffee. Oh yeah, they will have a full wet bar as well. Should be open sometime in April. I'm looking forward to it.
Opens tomorrow (3/29) at 11am. There full menu is now on their website. Looks like I was a little off on the price per slice for the desert pies, but the $3 point does apply to their savory "hand pies" and the other offerings (soup / salads) seem to be at a typical price point. I would like to see the sweet pie prices a little lower per/slice, but will reserve judgement until after I see how big/good they are! Either way, happy to see this place finally open!
I had lunch there yesterday. My friend had a hand pie and salad for $5.50 and I had a hand pie and cup of soup with french press coffee (yum!) for under $10. We were too full to try the dessert pie - saving that for next time. It was a cute place and very busy on their first day due to the buzz. FYI- They are still waiting on their liquor license.
It seems expensive, but the price is actually in line with many restaurants' dessert prices.
I guess that's why I very rarely get dessert at a restaurant!
The lunch specials seem like a good deal though.
