Has anyone checked into Audubon Park in far south Durham? Seems to be some decent buys there, so I'm wondering if there are any warts.

I think I drove through that neighborhood in my intital house hunt. Never went so far as to walk through anything, though, so I can't offer much. Sorry!

We almost bought lakefront in Parkwood, but chose the location we are in now as the house we purchased has a lot of turn of the century character. Although, I would have enjoyed walking out in my backyard to a lake (or a glorified pond).

As for Audubon Park, I haven't walked it either but looked at a number of properties there. Nothing stood out to me as a wart other than the houses there weren't my style. I do like the location and its proximity to shopping at the Streets of Southpoint. More development is going on there, and I imagine that the area will increase in price as the years go buy.

Nonetheless, even though they are not my taste, there are some very nice houses there at a great price. Good sizes and not unattractive. For me, however, I'd like to live further south where there is more land and that country feel, but that won't last anyway due to development.

I wouldn't buy a house in Audubon Park, isn't that where people drive really really fast?!

I'm just joking, save your negative reps.

Thanks for the information. I wouldn't mind the country feel but it drives my wife crazy for some reason.
