NRG, I can make a sign for you to use (and to reuse as needed) if you like.

I'll come up with something so people know who the city-data folks are. I'll mull it over and post more as the date approaches. Yeah, people can come and go but it would be cool if not everyone waited an hour to show up.

Although, I'm more than happy to prop up the bar for two hours at LoneRider one way or the other.

Hey, if we get enough people maybe we can raffle off a growler of beer. A growler holds 1/2 gallon of beer. At Lonerider I think it costs $13 the first time you buyt it and then $9 each time you get it refilled. If we get a dozen or so people to show up (and interested in trying to win a growler), we can each pitch in one dollar and put our names into a hat. Then have the bartender pick a name out of the hat and the lucky winner can go home with a growler of their favorite beer. What do you think?

BTW, this is what a growler looks like (the ones at LoneRider will of course have their own logo).

But yes, this is a problem, and I had the same issue when I went to the last one of these--even more so because nobody was there yet except NRG, so I was looking for a "group", not a "guy sitting by himself wondering WTF everybody was?" He did have name tags, though I don't think he had one on yet. But I did do that "wander from group to group looking expectant, waiting for someone to ask if I was with them" thing you mention
lmao, that is hilarious....
we should all wear a red rose in our lapel
ill be wearing bright blue shoes if that helps anyone, though i am chronically late (e.g. i was supposed to be at work in sanford 30 minutes ago, yet i'm sitting here at home posting)
