I am thinking of moving to NC soon, but I’m having a hard time narrowing down where I would live. I have a few preferences of things I would like to be near and what I am looking for. I will list them and if someone is familiar with the area and they could give me a few suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Max Driving Distance:
Airport RDU - 30 mins
Any lake that powerboats can be used on - 30 mins
Nightlife - 10 mins
Shopping – 10 mins

I am looking to probably buy a condo or a townhouse somewhere in the price range of 200-280.

I would also like to live in a more lively area, with majority of younger people.

Thanks for any help…

Search for the "Raleigh Greenways" or replace Cary with Raleigh. It will show you lakes you can check out. As far as living 10 min. from nightlife scratch that off otherwise you are not living where you want a 280k house if you catch my drift. Apex or Cary will get you most of what you want but you will be about 15 - 20 min from the downtown area. Flying Saucer is a great bar with plenty of drinks to choose from as is Stool Pigeons.

Extra, you just described my neck of the woods. I live in southern Durham.

RDU: 15 minutes to the east
Lake: Jordan Lake, about 15 minutes south
Nightlife: Take your pick. The bars and restaurants of Durham are 10 minutes to the north, the college hangouts of Chapel Hill are 15 minutes to the west. And if you want to drive a bit further, the popular nightspots of Raleigh are within 30 minutes to the east.
Shopping: One of the biggest and best shopping areas in the Triangle is in south Durham: Southpoint Mall. Surrounding the mall are plenty of other big stores (Super Target, Best Buy, etc.). Plus, it has a movie theater.

In addition, you can easily get a townhome or house in south Durham within your price range. Check out zip code 27713.

I have a townhouse for sale that fits your requirements perfectly. The MLS is 937399. It is nice, affordable, and convenient to everything.
