My b/f and I are escaping Virginia for the weekend for a mini-adventure. We're looking at visiting Raleigh and/or Durham area(s) and wanted to see what there is to do in those areas.
We'll be leaving very early in the morning so we should have 2 full days in NC. We're in our twenties, love the outdoors, especially canoeing and/or camping, but also enjoy touring cities, attending local events, theme parks, etc. Could you offer up a few ideas as to what we should see/do/experience during our stay? I hear the Renn Faire is open that weekend, is it worth going to? Are there any places we shouldn't waste our time on? Open to any/all suggestions!
