That is great too. Nothing wrong with it. I am old fashioned in a different way though but I also like thrill.

I never thought I would meet my fiance online but it happened and I dont regret it. Never regreted anything or anyone in my past or future because that is how we learn from our lives. I was married before and divorced now for over 7 yrs. Met friends through work, through computers and just by talking to people. Just enjoy meeting new people and making new friends no matter how it is done

But what if you don't have any friends to start with Have you never relocated? Did you never date anyone who wasn't a friend of a friend?

I personally met my hubby while playing an online game (Everquest) Good thing I didn't have your rule!

I agree it's good to be cautious but these meetups happen in public places and I don't think anyone should feel any more nervous than if they were striking up a conversation with a stranger.

And I've heard of people going to family reunions to meet girls.

That's okay, TarHell. As said before, you don't have to go.

But for those of us who are going, where should we do it this time? Could we please please have the meet-up at a locally owned establishment this time? Ya know, someplace that will show the newcomers some local flavor.
