We are thinking of buying a house in Hortons Creek and wanted to get some feedback about the neighborhood. It seems they are offering pretty good deals but are concerned with resale at some point. If we spend $550-600 on a house is this the best neighborhood? We have younger kids so we want a neighborhood with other kids around and also like a neighborhood pool. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Default Hortons Creek

You might want to consider Churchill Estates - houses in your price range, park/pool, custom homes, young children, and a little bit down Ten Ten from Wrenn Meadow.

No house is a good investment over $417k. The neighborhood is selling great so you should be fine. I would want a pool (supposed to be built but who knows) done before I spend that kind of loot.

Just out of curiousity where did you come up with the $417k number?

Hortons Creek is a nice neighborhood. Custom builder team. The model is absolutely beautiful. There are however several other neighborhoods in that general area that fall into the same price range. I'd do some shopping around and see if there is another neighborhood that offers more of what you are looking for.

Not a custom builder team. Baker Residential is the builder/developer. Nice tract homes. Nice, but tract homes nonetheless. I would not want to be at the top of the neighborhood's price range, and I would choose my lot very carefully.

I personally wouldn't buy until there is a pool in the neighborhhood if that is a priority for you.

I was turned off by the fact that they put SO many upgrades in the model home that it was priced at over $700K - upgrades that, according to the salesperson, may not even be available to a buyer.

They had to change theier game plan when they couldnt sell a house. They dropped the starting point $150k and started selling.
