I am looking for a place to rent in Raleigh or Durham for the next year (before I move out of the country). I have a roommate so it needs to be 2 bedrooms and preferably 2 baths. I have lived in cookie-cutter apts the past few years and would like something kind of different- loft, townhome, something! Any help would be great- this has been more difficult then I thought!
We'd like to keep the price around $1000 but that's not set in stone.

check out apts from ticon properties in durham. close to duke: lenox east 2 BR apts.. well below 1000. but i think they are fairly nice.
also look at their apts in woodcroft area.
we live in one of ticon properties apts.. no, not lenox east.. although i mentioned them 'cos i know they r 2 br! hope it helps

Check out realtor.com. The search engine lets you denote specific area, the fact you want to rent, and will pull up what is available. Block & Associates also has a lot of rentals -- all types, all price ranges, divided into specific areas.

a friend of mine has a condo in immaculate shape for rent $950+ util it's convenient to 440, 540, rte 1 - it's in raleigh - pm me if you are interested. It was built 3 years ago!

It should be easy to stay under $1000 for 2 bedrooms. Check craigslist. You can find all kinds of independently listed) as opposed to apartment community) ads there.
