Another vintage pic--remember when Crabtree Valley had a theatre?! The Valley Twin (first "multiplex" in Raleigh, 1972!). This was around the left side of where Best Buy is now. I saw many an Irwin Allen disaster movie there, plus Star Wars.
Wow. That is a great photo. That's a few years before my time but I'm trying figure out if I remember that being there. I used to ride my bike down glen wood (sidewalk) to the mall but that was in the early 80s.

Saw The Godfather there when it first showed in Raleigh at the new Valley Twin....long, long lines to get in too.
The Barber Shop to the left belonged to John English. He was the original owner of Longview Barber Shop, but he left for Crabtree for a bigger piece of the pie.
