Sorry I'm not a senior member and post a hundred times a day. I'm just trying to warm people before they move to such an overrated place.

"Happy" Badger doesn't sound so happy!

I don't really understand his posts. Maybe he could explain a bit more?

Vicki

Maybe Happy Badger's 4th post (due sometime in February) will enlighten us.

Sorry I have you southerners all worked up but I am just saying that crime in the south is high.

North Carolina is just one of 15 (if I'm counting correctly) states on this map, and Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill is just one area within the state of North Carolina -- so a blanket statement that "crime in the south is high" really doesn't mean much in terms of THIS thread.

And I'm among those who are puzzled about why you'd resurrect an old thread to post this data. Are you providing this same helpful information in all the other southern forums here at City-Data?

I have heard all the excuses before, "crime happens everywhere" or "it's all the northerners that moved down". But the fact remains that there is high crime in the area.

No, I'm not providing the rest of the south with this helpful information. I lived in Raleigh for five years so I figured I would start here.

Hm, well.

It's no skin off my teeth, as I don't live in North Carolina. However, given that this thread is -- specifically -- about Cary, Apex and Holly Springs, general crime statistics such as what you're offering are meaningless, unhelpful and off-topic.

Hi there!

I saw your post and was wondering where, in general, in Holly Springs you built. We are not ones to be a part of a subdivision (don't like the rules and HOAs), but don't want to be too far from shopping, dining, etc.

We are quiet and like to live quietly. We live across from a cornfield and cows now, here in Ohio, but are seriously considering moving to NC in the next few years. We like the location of Holly Springs/Apex/Cary, as it is a midway point between High Point (Hubby's employer, though he works from home), and the coast.

Thanks!
