If you like the Pirate's Table restaurant in RC, go eat there while the getting is good. They are closing down on September 3rd. The owners are retiring. They may sell to someone who wants to keep it as is, but I doubt it will be the same once it changes hands. That place was in their family for 3 generations, according to the news story.
I like that place. It's a little expensive (I'm a cheap date) but the food was good every time I went and the atmosphere was fun. It really did feel like being in the belly of a pirate ship.
I never understood how the place survived. The food was terrible, service even worse. Maybe I tried it out past its prime. I hear Fireside was once good too and fell victim to the same decline.
The two times we ate there the food was excellent and service was good. In fact there was an hour wait and time before, it was a half hour wait that was worth the wait. Our experiences were positive.
