I would like to find a new home in RC. I am looking for 12-1600sf, 2 bedroom, attached garage, no stairs, snow removal with hoa, lawn care with hoa, small outside area for small dog. I prefer the west area.
I would also consider high density housing with a small lawn area that could be landscaped to require little maintenance. In some ways this would be better, as I could have a small area for my puppy.
Right now, I am not thinking of any communities with HOAs. IMO HOAs are a pain and backside. There might be some townhouses, again nothing coming to mind.
The best bet would be to call a real estate agent.
There are quite a few townhomes and condos on the west side that would probably meet your criteria. A lot of them are along Sheridan Lake Road. Fountain Springs Townhomes also comes to mind (off the Deadwood Avenue exit).
You'd do best with a buyer's agent. Tell them what you want and they'll find prospects for you to look at.
There are several places that would work for you, price is always the determining factor. Depends on where in the city you want to live and what you want to live near. I have a great real estate agent - totally honest and helpful, if you would like his name please private message me. He can give you an idea of what is available and offer suggestions.
I am already working with an agent(my extended family has probably had 10-12 transactions with her) , but thanks. I am following the MLS with townhouse as one of my criteria. I guess more what I was asking is if anyone is familiar with an area of high density houses as they would be in the free standing stick home option of the MLS and not easy to spot. I also have no idea if there is high density housing in RC. Thanks
I don't know of any high density housing developments offhand, but one trick might be to narrow your MLS search to certain lot sizes. Generally houses with postage-stamp yards will be set very close to one another and you may find such a development that way. So you might want to just look at lot sizes under a quarter acre and see if that yields any results for you.
If the MLS doesn't let you search by lot size, Realtor.com certainly will.
My mom lives in a place like you are describing, but she's renting. I think she rents through Lewis & Kirkeby. I know there are a lot of condos around Rapid, but you might have to look a little to find something to your specs.
You might search Rapid City Homeowner's Associations to see what is listed, this might provide you with neighborhoods that fit what you are looking for. I know that there are townhomes/condos scattered here and there, there are newer areas being developed all over.
I know what you are looking for and unfurtunately or fortunately (depending how you look at it) there is not any sub divisions or large group of this type of homes. There are homes/units of this type but there are 3 or 4 here and 2 there and a couple over there, type thing. Your best bet is to contact Real Estate agents and find out if they have any listed. Good luck on your search.
