Hey everyone! We will be relocating to Rapid City from Kansas City in the next few months and I would like to compare diesel prices. We are at around 3.80 to 4.00 right now whats it like up there!!
I have seen it over $4 a gallon for diesel at a gas station in West Des Moines, IA last weekend. The $3.80 to $4.00 area for diesel is on par in the southeastern part of South Dakota. Do you plan on taking I-29 up to I-90 and taking I-90 over to Rapid? If you are, I recommend filling up at either North Sioux City, Elk Point, or Vermillion exit (Exit 26 on I-29), they are at this time and many times 10 cents or so cheaper than filling up in Sioux Falls.
I went down to Central Iowa last weekend and came back and found gas in the above mentioned areas being 10-15 cents cheaper than Sioux Falls on average. I filled up with the SuperUnleaded gas at the Vermillion exit and it was 16 cents cheaper than filling up iwith comparable fuel in the Sioux Falls area.
