There are basically three kinds of roads. PAVED, controlled by the city, the county or the state. They get plowed. Some are shut down in the winter, some have height restrictions, some have length restrictions, most have width restrictions. I mention that because if you have an RV and want to park it on your own property you need to check out the roads getting to your property. GRAVEL but are still country roads. The country plows them, the mail boxes are in front of your house. PRIVATE. These can be gravel or paved but there is some sort of HOA that takes care of them. Mail boxes are at a common area at the entry, not in front of your house. So if you are looking at a house and the mail box is in front the road is going to be plowed by the state, country or city. If the mail box is at the start of the street then the road is private and some HOA is going to do it. Therein is the problem, just who decides plowing is needed, who does it, how well do they do it? How well do they maintain the street? I live on a county road and they do it fairly early in the AM. Plus how steep is the road? What you WILL want is at least one SUV with decent traction in the snow. I have a GL Mercedes and I put off road tires on it so I can get up easily. If that kind of problem is too much, buy east of town where it is pretty flat. Out there you need to check out the little bridges as they have weight limits and a big motorhome may be too heavy.
