I still can't really comprehend not having my brother around, but he's not. I lost my only brother and my son lost his Uncle and Godfather he never got a chance to really know.

Ever since then I have been putting thought to just how easy it would be to have something go wrong. Car accident, a bad fall, or some other freak accident. I look at things completely differently these days and make sure to take the time to stop and say how I feel to the people that matter most to me.

My son, who is almost two, might not always do things right when he gets older. He may not always make the correct decisions. He might take some time to figure things out for himself. Then again, he may be all I hope he will be. Anyway around, when he looks back at his family, HE WILL KNOW HE WAS LOVED.

It's sounds like Cody's situation is an unfortunate one, but it sounds like he comes from a loving family that will help him get through this difficult time in his life.
God bless Cody and his family !!!
God Bless GI Mark and his family too! I'm sorry about your brother!

There is an update in today's RCJ and there is a number of a Wells Fargo branch where people can send donations. I'll see what I can do. The update just makes this story even more of an emotional mess.

That's still such an upsetting story. Please keep us updated on this Wells Fargo fund. I'd love to help out.

My prayers go out to Cody and his family and also to those who have expressed their compassion on this board. I don't visit the board as much as I'd like to, but each time I do, I can't help but notice the kind words shared between others. (at least most of the time) I will donate to Cody and his family, joyfully.

When I hear about tragic events that happen in people's lives, I tend to elevate those people above all others, and hope to learn from them. The human spirit is amazing in what it can teach and accomplish through mis fortunate and tragedy. Most of the people I admire the most, who have changed my life are the ones who have suffered and sacrificed greatly.

We are with you in prayer Cody, you hang in there friend.

Power to Change » A Victory Through Suffering

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

4. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Here is the latest update. Apparently, the police are saying that Cody is believed to have instigated the fight and will actually be charged with a misdemeanor on top of being paralyzed...

Wow, I hadn't heard this story. I'm kind of in shock. I can't get some of the above links to work, so don't know how up to date I am. Just a sad story. And GI, good post and sorry to hear about your loss.

This is really a sad story , but I believe that this boy is in the arms of the Lord. My daughter knew him and she always told me how sweet and friendly he was to everybody. R.I.P. Cody Yellow Thunder.
