Im thinking of moving to Rapid City from Mn. Two important activities that really want to be able to do is hunting and snowmobiling.
How is the waterfoul hunting particularly goose hunting in the RC area and also pheasants too. Im sure that the best is more in the central part of the state but wondering around RC. Also how bout snowmobiling?? is there enought to ride around the area or maybe ride the black hills or would i have to trailer to the hills. Hows the riding in the hills? I believe they get powder but isnt it really rocky in the hills. Im making trip out there this weekend to check out the RC Police Dept and Sheriffs office for jobs.

any info of anykind would be great

regards

Brent

Snowmobling is popular in the Northern Hills near Lead and Deadwood. There is a really good trail system

Not much in the area of waterfowl hunting around Rapid. Decent pheasant hunting is about 100 miles or more east of Rapid.

You'll find that snowmobiling is really popular in the Black Hills and like rjl said, there are great trails that go all over. Rapid City recently opened a Cabela's and the Black Hills has a deer and mountian lion hunting season. You'll have to go about 2 hours east for really good pheasant huntiing. We're the only state that hunts their state bird!
