Congratulations and welcome to South Dakota!!!

For rent~Have you checked out the Rapid City Journal? That could be your best bet.

Good luck with your move!

Kind of neat to see that some people are relocating here.

Welcome Cathy! Rapid City is a nice clean town to raise kids in and I hope you'll like it. I don't think credit really matters that much around here, at least not as much as it probably does in larger cities. There are a lot of low-income apartments and cheap places to rent in Rapid City. I'm not sure where you're from but if it's from a coast, large city, or somewhere out of the midwest you'll be surprised how far your money goes here.

Schools here usually start right after Labor Day and go until about the week before Memorial Day. This year it's ending on June 9th because of all the snow days we've had this year.

Good luck with the move!

Austin is supposed to be a beautiful area from what I hear. It may be somewhat similar to our Black Hills area. I'm sure you'll love it there.

I have a friend in NJ~her winters are fairly nice.
