Advertisements

are they reputable?

I want to do RE part time (more so I can have access to potential properties and sell my own with incurring huge fees) So I don't want the pressures of meeting sales quotas or have managers breathing down my neck to make a sale. I have noticed a lot of these ads on craigslist offering no franchise fees, 100% commissions or 90% commissions with $99 monthly fees.

Are these guys legit?

No, they are all crooks! I kid...of course some companies are better than others. Just go around and meet with them. Tell them your intentions and see for yourself who the best fit is.

Our office offers 90% commissions for agents who are long time agents who don't need babysitting, turn in all their paperwork and EM checks on time, know what they are doing (at least the normal day to day stuff), and pay all their fees and expenses (monthly MLS dues, annual dues, advertising, lockboxes, signage, everything). We don't even charge a monthly fee for that rate.

But we are a small, family run business with just one location and only a dozen or so agents.

So do you allow free reign or do you make sure the agents are producing?

No, we let the agents do their own thing. We have a few who only do 1 or 2 deals a year, and some who do 4 or 5 a month, and some in between. If they pay all their own dues, we have no expense to let them hang their license here.

great, thanks for the info.

that is what I am looking for. Unfortunately I am in WA but now I can be assured that there are companies out there that allow the flexibility that I am looking for.

Talk to them. They do exist. If you join one and find it's not a good match it's very easy to change to another.
