I am making a move from the company where I started in real estate (originally as an administrative assistant) and will be meeting with my managing broker today to tell him. Not sure how this will be received.
What have your experiences been in changing from one brokerage to another?
This is hard....keep it business like and try to avoid being emotional. I wrote a letter to my first broker detailing what I appreciated about my time with him and explaining why I felt like I needed to move and handed it to him, because I knew I'd have a hard time communicating my thankfulness and didn't want to be defensive of my choice verbally. Best wishes!
The move went more smoothly than I expected. Thankfully, the conversation--which I was a bit apprehensive about having--remained strictly 'business'. I'm signed on to my new office and ready to go on Monday morning. So excited about the opportunity. I have very strong ideas about business practices/marketing philosophy and look forward to working within a company that already embodies most of the same philosophy that I have!
