HousingWire | Zillow sues Trulia for patent infringement over home valuation processes

Maybe they should fix it before they sue over it?

Have you ever referred someone to a new home community or builder from a lead generated on the internet? If yes, you are likely infringing on a patent owned by "inest". inest was bought out by IAC. Unbelievably, they have a patent on this process.

This suit can't be good for T's ipo.

I think Trulia should just parade a bunch of real estate agents in to debunk that comment.

And have us pay them for the honor while they are at it...then it will be just like how they syndicate our listings and we pay them for the leads they make on our information.

What are you going to do about it? What are agents in general going to do about Z, T RE.com, etc., and the hundreds if not thousands of websites that use data or capture consumer leads and sell them back as leads or referrals? Z is a public company and T soon will be. Do you think they give a rats as& about you or your business? They have plans to open brokerages in every state - sitting on the shelf. They say one thing and do another and have sweet talked their way to the national landscape. Ever looked at the Trulia Board of Advisors? Mostly top brokerage people looking to make some stock options.

There is very little I can do about it but what I don't do is pay them for anything or buy leads/add placement. I voice my concerns and try to educate other agents about how we are being fleeced because many don't get it. My company owner understands the issue. That is about all I can personally do.

What are agents going to do about it? All they can do is the same thing I'm doing and hope their companies start opting out of the syndication.

Do those companies care about agents? No they don't. So long as someone is handing over money they are content. They care very little if any at all if those agents are successful as long as checks keep coming in.

Trulia went public today... just saw that on another board... Let the real fleecing begin.
