Some strong advice here. I'll just reiterate that you are now running a business so treat it as such. Businesses come with expenses. Create a business plan complete with a budget if you haven't done so already. Tom gave you some really good distribution percentages.
First of all, take yourself and spouse/friend to a nice restaurant. Learn to reward yourself simply, but happily. Set aside 30% for taxes. 10% for reserve, 30% for marketing, and pay your business bills, any remaining, buy yourself either a nice business suit, a tool such as a phone upgrade, or enroll in a seminar.
^^^ all of the above except have your spouse/friend take YOU to a nice restaurant. Then, take between $50 and $100 and send your buyer or seller a thank you gift ! Make that one of your priorities within a short time after closing. Best wishes on your first closing. Whether you need the income now or not, you certainly will need it in the future, so stash some cash.
Buy a GOOD domain name. Make sure you notice I said for YOU to buy it, not a website provider to buy it for you.
Buy Wordpress for Dummies.
If you can set up a $10 a month Zillow website, then get one. Or get a free WP blog on wordpress dot com and use your domain there. DO NOT RELY UPON THE WEBSITE YOUR COMPANY PROVIDES YOU (if they do provide one) because if you leave the company, then you will probably lose your website & anything you have built/written.
Whichever one it is, use that to learn on. When you make more money, look into a self hosted WP blog/ website with IDX/RETS.
The main thing is to save as much as you can while still paving the road for future success.
Good luck and best wishes for a very successful career!
I agree with Mark Brian, however, take a look at this youtube video on step by step instructions on how to make your own website without reading a book for endless hours. Uses wordpress.org all for the low total price of under $25 bucks. So the rest of your check, put it away in the bank.

Excellent point for a newbie in the business. Also, do the same thing with your email address, don't have all your business and contacts tied to a company branded email account or office phone. Have your very own personalized business email. Then if you change brokerages all your old clients and contacts will still be able to contact you at the same old email address, website and cell#. Then at some point if you decide to change brokerages all you have to do is change the logo on your website. Email all your contacts about this "great new opportunity" etc. and you are good to go!
