You're the vast majority. I believe it's 77% of people only interview one agent.

Why didn't you contact the agent(s) who represented you while buying the houses? Don't you feel they have market knowledge since they helped negotiate your purchase price based on the comparable sales? Do you feel someone who works with buyers isn't capable to work with sellers? Just wanting to understand because most agents market to their past clients hoping they reuse our services when they're ready to sell and buy again.

I am not that interested in their opinion as listing price, we can discuss that on a second visit. We look for a good "fit", strong communication skills, evidence of satisfied customers in past transactions. I will challenge you to offer me proof that you will be successful. This is a pure business transaction for me - no preference given to relatives, friends, fellow church members ect. We pay for performance. Power point and flashy presentations will not influence my decision.
This mindset and simple routine is something which, if used by every seller (and buyers), would weed out the bad agents from the industry and raise the perceived level of professionalism in real estate. In turn, more buyers and sellers would get better service.

It's really not that complicated. Most people spend more time researching a new phone than they do a Realtor, so it's nice to encounter an example of a thoughtful consumer who takes the selection process seriously.
