The FL Association of Realtors sent out an email today to all FL agents reminding us that if we decide to host open houses, we have to follow CDC Guidelines.
From the email:
The Florida Surgeon General has informed Florida Realtors of anecdotal reports of open houses with more than 10 attendees. It is essential that any open house adhere to CDC recommendations for safe social distancing.
Housing is an essential need and Realtors in Florida need to continue to work to provide it, but only in a safe format. Please note that yesterday, Florida Realtors, the Florida Land Title Association and the Florida Home Builders Association asked Gov. Ron DeSantis to consider real estate transactions and title recording essential services which should remain active, pledging to adopt steps to minimize health and safety risks for practitioners and customers.
Essential services. The last thing we agents need to do is have a finger pointed at us for not following CDC guidelines and have state authorities tell us we cannot do business for the duration. So please act responsibly if you continue to offer open houses.
Since I posted 10 days ago, 99.9% of agents here aren't doing open houses. Just private showings. Buyers are still out and buying home. Multiple offers on a great house again yesterday for my buyers.
Just put my house on the market. Not going to do any open houses any time soon..... People can schedule a private showing any time. I saw a video on YTube about how to do video showings, which seems to be the new normal.......?

Our regional MLS service announced yesterday that they are disabling the Open House button feature until further notice at the direction of the FL Surgeon General. Since our MLS service covers 59,000 members over numerous mid FL counties, it will have an impact on sellers.
The mayor of Tampa and Hillsborough county authorities are arguing about the mayor wanting a shelter-in-place order to go in effect immediately for the residents of Tampa. However, the county is considering some sort of shelter-in-place order that could have a huge impact on real estate showings in the Tampa area. Pinellas County (St. Pete) has put a "safer at home" order in place as of yesterday, which is another way to say shelter-in-place, for the next week or more. Real estate is not on the list of essential services under the Pinellas county order.
We are definitely in uncharted waters on this one.
