I was the listing agent on an investment property renovated by my sellers. Since closing, the new owners have contacted me regarding issues they are having with the house. They hired an inspector during the due diligence period which should have pointed out the issues they are now calling about. I am perturbed that their agent gave them my number. I am sure it was to get them off of her back. I have tried to be nice but what do I do/say?

Talk to your broker in charge for counsel on how to proceed. If your BIC isn't helpful, leave for a company with a BIC that is helpful.

You say that they need to call their home inspector and ask why the inspector didn't document that issue.

Contact your BIC or an attorney experienced in such matters. There is NO other answer a legitimate, experienced agent would give you.

Were you aware of the issues prior to closing...and were they the types of issues that should have been disclosed?

Talk to your broker. If buyer had an inspection and they didn't negotiate, it should be the new buyers responsibility unless there was a big mistake on the property disclosures,MLS or advertising of the home. Buyers to perform their diligence.
