Im currently taking my courses to become a Real Estate Agent. Is there anything other then taking my classes that I should be doing while im taking my classes? Any advice on what classes to take to help me out in the beginning? Any advice, references, any info period would be greatly appreciated...... thank you.
Congratulations!
Begin speaking with brokers to find a place you are comfortable with and be sure to find out what the office fees are as they can be high espescially when you are not making money. Talk to other realtors and listen to their advice and note the different styles of doing things to find what will work for you. Most importantly, when you get calls or e-mails etc, respond ASAP as that is the number one complaint of clients. I get clients from people who have spoken to several realtors and they don't bother to call back.
Real estate is a very expensive business, from mls fees and buying signs and supra keys and advertising and monthly office fees, continued education, car upkeep and gas etc. Know this ahead of time as it ca be very difficult to keep up with all the expenses.
Good Luck!

Be honest and always keep your buyer or sellers best interest in mind.
I also have been reading a few articles saying that starting of by being a buyer agents is better than sellers. Is this somewhat true? I see the diff. is pretty much on who you are committed to, the buyer or the seller.
I've been thinking about doing it as a part time job. My experience with my realtor (yes, realtor, not agent!) has been unimpressive. I've researched a lot about the target home and found that my realtor apparently unaware of various crucial information. I end up negotiating with this realtor to give me part of this person's commission as my rebate.
I'm not in this business but I could tell you a few things from customer angle.
1) Please don't be offended! Is there any rule that agents have to drive Lexus, BMW series 5 or any luxury brand? Would that be a must for this career or just a reflection of income? There's nothing wrong with that but I just feel I'm in the process of being ripped off.
2) treat your clients the way you want other people to treat you
3) be honest, don't brag, or mislead, and.. be honest, please!
4) no strong perfume! Not all customers love your perfume. Imagine being in the car with Mr./Ms. strong perfume every weekend make customers sick.
5) know your stuff - this is your value we, customers, are looking for. We call you because we need your help.
I can see why a realtor would want to drive a nice car. Their CAREER is driving people around. Offering them a comfortable experience while they drive them around town would certainly be considered a cost of doing business.
That being said, research your realtor well. Just like in any business there are excellent people and not so excellent people.
Also, I hear a lot of people go through the Champions School of Real Estate out in my area. I think that if you have certain college credit already it reduces the number of classes you have to take.
