Does anyone know if you need a real estate lawyer for buying a house in Maine? In Oregon you don't have a lawyer but I have heard that some states on the East Coast you need a lawyer.

Real Estate is local. What may be relevant in one part of Maine, might not be in another. Ask a local real estate person. If you need a name and a email of a past Maine Association President...pm me. Referral hook ups are no cost and no obligation.

There is a Maine broker on this forum, if you search for him: Mainebrokerman is his user name, he'll be happy to answer your questions.
