Thanks and thats NY for you. They have to send the tests to Albany by Fedex or UPS and they use the cheapest rates. NY is supposed to be the most progressive state in the whole union, supposedly yet so backward in many things. I guess they don't trust the proctors to grade the tests. At least in RE school they scanned the card right there and we new our grades. Go figure. LOL

You think that's bad... here they switched to digital finger printing. You would think that was done to speed things up, right? Well. Not so. It's taking up to 2 months for the state to recognize and accept the digital fingerprints that are taken by their own contractor, even though they already have finger print cards on file for us. So, if I take my course, if my fingerprints haven't been processed, I can't take the state test until they are. Ridiculous.

Congratulations! You worried a lot of words! Now, simply put the same effort into your new business and you will find success ahead.

I have some proverbs for you.

1) Excuses only satisfy those who make them.
2) Success will come only with a general understanding of sales statistics:
100 people contacted will generate 50 prospects giving you 10 appointments, 5 will be kept, and 2 will become a sale

40 hours per week of true effort (not just 40 hours of sitting in the office) times 50 weeks (you can have two weeks vacation) equals 2000 hours. 10,000 hours equals success. Don't count on it before. An old hand in the business share the 5 year rule with me when I started. He was so right.

Hey Ken, well I've been out of the states for a while but when I got mine if I'm not mistaken either the real estate commission or state chapter of NAR had a carrier where members received preferencial rates - this is something you need to discuss with your new broker as she'll know and all states operate so differently . . . . I would think with your bio she'll give you a new agent package or whatnot that will include where you can get your E&O insurance.
