I am curious what everyone else is paying and doing some comparisons...

I am paying...

$900 - Homeowners ($2500 deductible, NOT a premium policy)
$1400 - Auto (full coverage with high insured values, 1-year, 2 cars worth only about 18k total)
$130 - Umbrella coverage

All of it with Amica insurance...

Are you going to normalize this inquiry with

What kind of automobile they drive?
Age?
Type of house?
Subjectivity to natural disasters?
Driving record?
Smoking status?
Presence of dogs, swimming pools, trampolines, distance from brush, roof type?
Etc.

Here in FL homeowners is ridiculous. We are currently paying $3000 per year for a 3600 sf house with a pool in SE Florida. Our new home will be more since is it larger and costs more than this one. We live 25 miles inland.

Auto insurance is around $3000 per year. 3 cars (VW R32, GMC Yukon XL, Scion xB), 3 drivers. One driver is a 16 year old male. The other drivers are mid 40s. No recent accidents or tickets for any of us. Our son just got his license in March. Nobody smokes. We get a discount because our son is a good student.

I have only auto and I pay $76 a month. $1400 seems very high. My car was new as well worth probably 15k only 1 car too. I have Geico.

I'm 24, my 24 year old fiancee is on my police with me, we have bad credit and a few accidents in the not too recent future (Other people hit us, not us hitting them) and a comprehensive claim from some vandalism a few months back. We pay roughly 1500 every six months on an '05 Honda Civic coupe and '00 Cherokee. Full coverage, 500 deductible on comprehensive on the Civic, with a 1000 deductible (I think.) and relatively high coverage limits for liability. Just liability on the Jeep. This is through Progressive

We were quoted $400/yr from State Farm on the house we just bought, a 2 story, 1500ish square foot brick house in Pittsburgh. Haven't gotten it as we're not fully moved in and some moron (me) happened to mention that so they wouldn't start the policy.

1700sf 30 year old ranch that is six miles inland and about 45 feet above mean sea level- we pay about $1600/year for homeowner's, which is considered to be a steal by Florida standards. Flood insurance would be another $200/year but we do without since we've gotten 20+ inches od rain in 36 hours in the past with no incident.

Auto runs us about $2000/year for a 2003 Passat and 2006 Outback wagon in a relatively low risk area. We could probably do better for auto, but it's the same insurance company as the homeowner's, and having it there reduces the odds of us getting dropped for homeowner's.

That's some crystal ball you have there! As long as you can tell us about what will happen in the future (even if it is the not-too-recent future), how about letting us know who's going to win the World Cup? I'd like to bet on a sure thing!

This thread makes me very glad I live where I do.

Very good homeowner's insurance (overvalue on the dwelling, replacement cost on belongings, loss of use insurance, low deductible, etc.) on a $135k, 2 bedroom 2 bath, 1300 sq.ft. townhouse for $311.42 this year.

Auto insurance is around $300 a year for the vehicle we just have liability on, and around $600 a year for the vehicle we still have full coverage on, so about $900 a year total for 2 vehicles, 2 drivers. Probably next year the 2nd car will drop to liability only (paid off now, but still worth enough that full coverage is worth it), so then about $600 a year total.

I've had coverage at Farmers for over 15 years.
