The Tuttles of New Hampshire have been running a family farm since before the nation existed, but their 378-year-old tradition is coming to an end, the Boston Globe reports. What is billed as the country's longest continuously operating family farm is up for sale. The 134-acre property, which has become gradually surrounded by suburban homes over the years, lists for $3.35 million.

The farm has been gradually surrounded by suburban homes in large part because the Tuttles have sub-divided the farm & sold off lot after lot over the years for McMansions.....so it's not like they have been boxed-in by sprawl they they could not control. It was very much of their own doing, and good luck to them, it's their land. But it's funny how the article spins this as if the Tuttle family had no hand in the changing landscape.
