Hi, I own a home w/ my sister who refuses to pay rent or return my calls or letters. It's been 9 months without a single payment & i really need my share of the property. I have proof that she promised to buy me out before she moved in (but never did), she stole everything out of the house (all my personal property valued at over 20K) and now refuses to pay me anything. I don't have any money to hire an attorney and need to know if i can file for a sale in lieu of partition myself and how much money it costs for filing? How much do i have to pay up front and for what actions? What fees and how much get deducted from the final sale? Can i sue her for my property or add it in along with the rent that is owed? I want to make sure that i get more out of the sale and what she owes me get deducted from her half only. Is this possible? Please help me in any way. It's very much appreciated. Thanks!
