There are magazines exclusively for realtors like "Realtors" the business tool for Real Estate professionals. There are always the best articles about the last trends in Real Estate, Mortgage, insurance, etc. You can request to any realtor to e-mail you each month the last articles published or you can log in www.realtor.org/magazine (http://www.realtor.org/magazine - broken link)
Also each state of the american union has a Real Estate magazine for the members Real Estate associates. If you are in Connecticut you can try : www.connecticutrealtors.org/magazine

I am sure you are going to fall in love with those magazines.
Enjoy'em

I would say almost 100% of my news is online. If I receive it in print, it's already too old. Heck, half the time I read it online, it's old. Realty Times is the best, for rates, I subscribe to ratelink.com ($), and then I check these:

For comprehensive statistics by area: Housing Trends - housing market, real estate market

For housing news (it says "mortgage news" - but it's not overly mortgage technical):

HousingWire
