I think Sect. 8 should be limited to the people with true handicaps so the taxpayers know their dollars are being put to good use.
And who defines a "true handicap"?

I also feel Section 8 should be cancelled. It's a failed program. It was meant for extreme situations, but instead has been taken over by young girls that have children by deadbeats which makes them unable to afford housing. Almost everyone on the program is a single parent that is going through hardtimes. Well maybe if they would stop having kids they can't afford they wouldn't need the Section 8. It's a choice. Also, too many people use it for way too long. The lists never opens up because people stay on it forever.

I know I sound harsh, but I had to grow up on Section 8 and it's wrong. My mother shouldn't have needed it, she should have gotten married and had her kids with a provider.
The apartments I lived in were horrendous. Mice, Roaches, loud noise, non working people, too small, unkempt, worst neighborhoods.
It's no place for a kid to live.

Actually, the majority of recipients are the elderly well beyond child bearing age.

Having said this, I know what you mean about young girls. A girl who went to high school with my daughter just had child #4 by 4 different dads and has never been employed. She's 23.
