Thanks for the link. One of those good news/bad news articles. Sales were up in July as compared to June, however sales are down over 10% as compared to a year ago.

Remember part of reason New ones sell is Give-backs by builders! That is quite misleading versus reality. What is something really worth when you deduct shell games? Maybe less than the net price you see - Certainly less than the gross price and with costs rolled in you pay for Years on the games too. Be careful out there - Remember how long it took to get this out of control and don't think it's all fixie in a minute.

Don't get your hopes up. The government data doesn't take into account "true sales prices" when you add in seller incentives and givebacks, which grossly affects the sales pace of new and existing home sales. Seriously, don't look for a comeback until mid to late 2009 (at the earliest). If you have a home to sell, you better make sure it is in "perfect" condition and price it "to sell" if you want it to sell.

So,That could mean that the buyers want newer homes.
Who are the ones buying new homes?
Are there more foreigners coming?
Foreingers here in California like buying homes that are newly built or built within 5 years
