In Left coast , there are many smaller homes. But in Midwest, like in Indiana, we see much fewer. Just wonder where to find smaller but nice single family home, so it is easy to maintain, use less utilities and furniture.

You don't say if you're looking in an urban, suburban or small town setting, but I think you probably will have better luck if you look at homes built in the 1960s or prior. In Kansas City, there are plenty of suburban homes built in the 40s and 50s that are 1000 - 1300 sq ft. But good luck finding one that small built in the 1970s or newer.

There are small houses everywhere. Perhaps you could be more specific about what you're looking for?
