I just bought my first home and discovered termite damage on the drywall due to bubbled paint it is a small area and the only area in the house. Called terminix and they are coming Thursday to treat it. There is NO active termites. What I need to know is how to repair my wall?

Are you sure it's termites? I don't know that they cause paint to bubble, but I know water damage will.

afaik, termites do not eat drywall. Repairing drywall is easy enough my grandmother taught me when I was just a kid. I'm sure you can find a video online or at HomeDepot or Lowe's websites.

How about starting with them *inspecting* the house to see what is what...
and what treatments are needed (or not).

(actually... the house should have had a Termite inspection as part of the recent sale)

There probably aren't, but again...
how abut letting THEM make that determination?

bubbled paint
bubbled paint (a whole other issue from termites) is most often about moisture.
find the source, fix it, repair the wall board, re-paint.

They don't eat drywall, but they love the paper on the back. Sometimes the first sign obvious sign of termites is around a door or window casing where they've eaten all the molding and left the paint...

I too have had termites tunnel up the wall between the paint and gypsum board, eating the paper backing. To repair it, simply scrap the bubbled area off, spackle and texture it and repaint. After you have had the exterminators get rid of the termites, of course.
