If somebody can help me I would really appreciate it.

I receive email information from Zillow about Real Estate in my area.

One type of email I receive is information about properties sold in my area...sale price, date sold...etc, etc.

Here is an example of the sales price on different properties that I would receive in a Zillow email:

prop 1 = 110K, prop 2 = 159K, prop 3 = 135K, prop 4 = 500 dollars(?).

Can someone clue me in on what the possible reasons for this 4th properties sales price of 500 dollars is??? The 300, 400, 500 dollar sales price comes up in the Zillow email quite often, cannot figure it out.

I have looked at the properties that sell at the low prices.....they are not great......but comparable to others in the area that sell for 100k - 150k. Is this some secret way to buy properties that I should learn about???

Any insight would be much appreciate.

Seeing that this is CD......I guess I have to include the usual plea....if you just want to flame me or give snotty/stupid answers.....well, save it.

These were probably not Zillow listings but something they pulled from the local tax district.

It's just advertising and I doubt it is even real but you could call Zillow and inquire.

I've seen rentals listed as for sale properties. Could be you are seeing the monthly rental price for a rented property. Just another example of Zillow's "accuracy" .

Z is marketing initiation of a rental compilation.
I wonder if this is the reason.

I actually looked at the website & did indeed see hundred thous dollar homes sold for 500, and listed as short sale; but i do agree with you that they also list rentals as property.

I think this. A family member buying out another one for an estate, or a parent selling to a child or a divorce situation.
