I promised to update - and it is good news, indeed.
We were away for over a month, and I arrived to the property in the exact condition we left it in (except for the leaves which were 5 inches high all over the driveway and decks!) A storm came through last night and blew most of the leaves off the deck, so even that hasn't been a challenge!
Down to the mums I left on the front deck . . . everything was exactly as we had left it - the mums are still blooming and quite pretty.
The only things caught on camera were wildlife and a falling limb. Our lights are functioning, our fountain is running, the items we left on the deck are still there . . . no signs of any type of malicious activity at all.
This seems anticlimactic after all the discussion, doesn't it? What I hope it means is that the good advice about security solved the problem. I do realize that I could leave in a few weeks and when I return, I might find something amiss. But it seems to me that at least the security measures have deterred the behaviors for now.
We could see lights at our neighbor's house, so she is definitely here. Whether she has been here the entire time we were gone is not something we are likely to find out.
I really appreciate all the advice (and humor!) that everyone has shared. Here's to a peaceful Winter ahead!
Yes, kind of anti-climactic, but much better to have nothing happen. I think "nothing happened" precisely because you set up the real cameras instead of fake ones, you absolutely need the photo evidence, first for peace of mind, second to catch the bully (in case it happens again) with proof positive, but like you said, I think the bully is aware "she is being watched" for real, and that is how deterrence works, so you can enjoy what you want, which is just peace and harmony and no trouble.
