Not in Connecticut.
Cars are taxed
exactly like real estate (in addition to title & plate fees)
. Even if parked in garage. I paid $247 for my 2008 Ford this year. Same town mill rate as real estate.
BTW, since mill rate is per each of the 169 towns in CT, the same car can be taxed 100s, even 1000s, different depending on town it is registered in.
