We have always changed the locks on our houses....I guess it just made us sleep better at night.

Never on purpose. Had to change our front door set 'cause it wore out, but the deadbolt is the same. Seldom locked, but then we have always had a dog.

Definitely change the locks. As with an earlier post, I too change my locks every 2-3 years. My father is a 35 yr veteran cop in a city with 2,000,000 people, the stories he comes home with, indeed change the locks. Sellers are often to blame for break-ins, it is the realtors I heard were the suspects most of the time.

We had a transferred home warranty and the home warranty people sent someone to rekey the locks.

Lots of houses. Never changed the locks. Rarely use them anyway. I have a really big dog... You know I never would have even thought to change the locks!

Absolutely we changed the locks the day after we moved in. Unfortunately the company we hired did not have a company van advertising they were a locksmith service since I wanted to make sure it was known on the neighborhood that the locks were being changed in case a neighbor still had a spare key, but it helps us sleep better at night...

I just get in my rocking chair centered toward the door every night and wait with my Magnum 44.

I must be really paranoid, as I changed the locks on a brand new house. As others have stated, who knows who had keys. There were contractors in and out all of the time.
