More of a "when's it going to come back"... but, when are colored bathrooms with colored toilets, etc going to come back into fashion?

I love mine, and it was always so devastating going into 1950s homes when we were house hunting, seeing the original bathrooms ripped out in place of cheap, tacky white ones or white bathrooms with dark cabinets with granite countertops which did NOT suit the age or style of the house at all!

I would not be holding my breath.

But I bet if you talked to some contractors in my area (northern New Jersey) you could probably stock up on as many pink, blue, and green toilets, sinks, and baths as you ever wanted.

I know my river rock floor in my walk in shower will be dated in a few years. I wouldn't have chosen it, but I do like it.

I think the oversized center island will be dated too, and I have a monster one.

Not having a separate pantry is a trend I see in many homes. This confuses the heck out of me, doesn't everyone need a pantry?

I've been seeing that as well in new builds......and it seems designers are planning fewer wall cabinets as well for these open concept kitchens.......Blech.........

Fewer wall cabinets, no pantry.........where's all the kitchen stuff to go?

I have a 50s pink bathroom that I cannot wait to rip out. I really, really hate the color pink. Previous owner did not really care for it all that well either so everything looks like crap.

I have seen plenty of 50s bathrooms in my area that still look nice---but they are not pink. Those I'd probably keep as long as everything was in good condition.

Please save whatever is still viable and get it to a salvage shop; there are people who are trying to preserve the historical look of their bathrooms and would love to have pink (or any other color) fixtures.

My theory: the people who love these types of kitchens eat a lot of takeout!

I find it interesting that every homebuyer (on the tv shows, anyways, lol) REGARDLESS of the price of the house, turns their nose up at the kitchen if there is no granite

Everyone says granite and stainless will be out soon, but I think those are here for at least the next 10-15 years.

The wavy looking hardwood floors....I hope those go out of style quickly. They look like warped wood to me.
