I prefer a south facing house with a deciduous tree or two in front. The tree shades the house in the summer and lets in sun in the winter. Besides, in Colorado, it is usually sunny, so when the sun comes after the snow, I don't have to shovel the front walk.

our new home is exactly like this the front side is facing south and little towards east and some small trees on the east side of the house.
I didn't check the direction of the house when I bought this house but when i go there in the morning i see sun light in the living room and then check google map an found that is little facing towards east for sun light.
But my back yard is towards north so may be little sun light there
