My Builder/Realtor is asking if I am available for pre-drywall meeting early next week (May 5 to May 9)
I would like to have an independant professional home inspector (IPHI) to take a look at the pre-drywall structure, so that any issues can be uncovered at the beginning itself. However, the earliest appointment for the home inspector is Mon, May 12

Would it be fine if I can have a pre-drywall meeting with the builder/realtor before the the home inspector inspects the building or is it prudent to have the pre-drywall meeting with the home inspector or after the the home inspector inspects the building?

Please advice

I wouldn't have the meeting until the inspector can be there and has gone through the home. It could happen simultaneously though. The reason for the pre-drywall meeting is to inspect everything. Once that meeting is over your builder will move on to putting up drywall.

What he said ^^^
Once you have met with the builder / realtor it's too late to get the inspector in there as work will proceed.

I would have everybody there at once. That seems like a long time to get an inspector out there.

Are you somehow locked into that inspector? Call other inspectors. Surely someone can get by there by the end of he week.

My builder was very clear that they will not walk with my inspector. That is meant to be something done completely independently. I had my inspector in on a Friday morning, report to my salesperson on Saturday morning and did the pre-cover walk with the builder on Monday afternoon. By that point most of the inspection issues had already been taken care of.

Yes, this was our experience as well, except the inspection report didn't go to the salesperson. It went to our realtor, who sent it on to the production manager.

Same procedure when we had the pre-closing inspection.
