Buy had inspection yesterday and it states a kick out flashing water diverter is need coming of the front roof porch that's up against the main structure. We have gutters and this section is also under about a foot of the main roofs over hang so it's not like tons of water goes down it. Also the water that does easily goes into the gutter. I didn't see any other houses in neighborhood (over a dozen) that even have gutters let alone a flashing. My roofer says it doesn't need it at all and might cause other issues. Do I have any chance of not having to Do this?

Are you willing to potentially risk the deal over a piece of flashing, which is typically a pretty cheap repair? That flashing would be required by code in my area.

Once you put it like that, no I'm not. Just hate having to pay and get work done that only the inspector thinks is necessary.

I'm with the inspector.
You need the kick out flashing.

And you are smart to focus on the bigger picture, the transaction at hand.

Everything is negotiable! Even if it were required by the lender the purchaser could always pay for it in advance or as credit/ deduction at closing.

If you really want to sell though, don't let it be a deal breaker!

Do it. Potential water damage is scary to buyers, and the repair is not expensive.

Besides, flashing is one of those underrated items that, if neglected, can cause a lot of trouble.

Ditto, do the fix and inspectors are usually trying to cover for the buyer and flashing long term will be invaluable!
