I have a friend looking for a place in Cambridge, Massachusetts who says most of the properties she looks at are being bought in all cash deals by Chinese Nationals. I have no actual evidence to support this assertion.
Are there particular areas, the chinese investors are buying up the real estate? I know they are buying out lots of RE in NYC. What about SoCal or California in general? Someone on another forum also mentions Detroit. Is that only because it is cheap?
Also are there certain foreign ethnic groups that like to buy particular areas? I remember a few years ago, much of South Florida was being bought by wealthy Venezuelans? How is that trend going these days? Are wealthy Euros, Canadians, Brazilians, South Asians, and Mexicans buying RE in this country?
