We are in a military town, so a lot of buyers are coming in from out of state. For that reason, we went with the agent with the best website/marketing. When you google the name of our town and any real estate term, her agency is the first search result. The marketing is what made the difference for us.

How can you find the agent who has sold the most properties in an area? Is there a web site or MLS way to find this out that is available to the average person?

Thinking about it, the only thing I have seen it was on Zillow, I think or one like that. At the bottom of the page, it sometimes or maybe always shows what a house last sold for and the year but no way to know which realtor actually sealed the deal. Most of the stuff is locked down so the average person can't access it. I know if I protest our property taxes, the county assessor will show 3 similar properties (or so they think) so they get it probably by subscription to a service.
